Connect Stripe to Riverr
Last updated October 21, 2026
Connecting Stripe takes one click from Settings → Integrations. Riverr sends you to Stripe, you sign in to the account your shop already uses (or create one on the way), and store sales, seller production charges, quote deposits, invoices and the Register all run through it. No API keys, no forms.

Before you start
- You must be the enterprise admin (the account that owns the shop). Team members and sellers can't connect Stripe.
- Know which Stripe account your shop runs on. Have the email and password ready, or your phone if Stripe sends a code.
- No Stripe account yet? That's fine. Stripe creates one during the same flow. Have your business name, address, EIN or SSN, and bank account details handy; Stripe asks for those, not Riverr.
Connect Stripe in five steps
- In the Riverr admin, go to Settings → Integrations. Click the Payments chip to filter, or type Stripe in the search box.
- On the Stripe card, click Connect. A panel opens on the right with your current status and what to expect.
- Click Connect Stripe at the bottom of the panel. Riverr sends you to Stripe.
- At Stripe, enter the email of the account your shop uses and sign in. Stripe shows Riverr uses Stripe for secure payments on the left so you know you're in the right place. If the email has no Stripe account yet, Stripe walks you through creating one on the same screen.
- Pick the account to connect (if you have more than one) and click Authorize or Continue. Stripe sends you straight back to Riverr. The Stripe card now reads Connected · Your own Stripe account with your email under it.
That's it. The next storefront order charges on your Stripe. Nothing else to turn on.
If you land back in Riverr with a red message instead, see Troubleshooting below.
What runs through Stripe
Once connected, one Stripe account carries everything a shop charges:
| Money in | How it reaches Stripe |
|---|---|
| Storefront, popup store and MyCart orders | Charged directly on your Stripe at checkout. Riverr's fee is taken out of each sale automatically. |
| Seller production orders | Your sellers add a card under Payments → Payment method. Each production order is invoiced and charged to that card through your Stripe. No collecting cards by hand. |
| Emailed invoices (sales orders, deposits, balances) | Sent as Stripe hosted invoices from your account. Paid invoices flip to paid in Riverr on their own. |
| Quote deposits | Stripe Checkout on your account. |
| Register (counter sales, keyed cards, pay links, Tap to Pay) | Your Stripe; readers are registered to your account. |
| Refunds, disputes, bank deposits | All in your Stripe dashboard, not in Riverr. |
You keep Stripe's standard processing fee relationship directly with Stripe. Riverr never holds your sales.
Already connected the old way?
If your Stripe card reads Connected · Riverr created account, your shop is on a payout account Riverr set up for you. It keeps working, and you can move to the Stripe account you already run in three clicks. See Switch to your own Stripe account.
Troubleshooting
Stripe asked me to create an account but I already have one. You typed an email Stripe doesn't recognize. Use the browser back button, or close the tab and click Connect Stripe again, then enter the email you use to log in to dashboard.stripe.com.
I came back to Riverr and it says the connection failed. Click Connect Stripe once more. If it fails twice, the most common cause is a Stripe account that has restrictions on it. Sign in at dashboard.stripe.com and clear any red banner there first.
The card says "Setup started, not finished." Stripe still needs something from you, usually identity or bank details. Open your Stripe dashboard; the to do appears at the top.
The card says "Disconnected. Connect again." Someone removed Riverr from the Stripe account's Settings → Authorized applications, or the Stripe account was closed. Click Connect Stripe to reauthorize.
Can I use the same Stripe account for two Riverr shops? Yes. Each shop connects it separately.
Where are my payouts? In Stripe. Payments → Payouts in Riverr has an Open Stripe dashboard link that goes straight to your payout schedule and bank account.
I'm a seller with a store on someone else's Riverr. You don't connect Stripe. Add a card under Payments → Payment method; your fulfiller charges it for production orders, quote deposits and invoices. If you also sell through a MyCart or popup store, your share of those sales is paid to you by Riverr; set up PayPal or a bank account under Payments → Seller payouts.
