Add a base product

You are putting a garment (or specialty) into the enterprise catalog so Catalog can design against it.

SanMar, S&S, and AS Colour are suppliers in the search — not their own nav items. Connecting a supplier under Settings → Organization → Integrations only wires the API. Creating the base product still happens here.

Where

Base products → All base products → Add product

Page heading: Base products. Add opens Add a product (/blank-products/new).

Sellers: Settings → Catalog → Blank products. Admins hitting that URL are sent here.

From Catalog, Add Base Product now is the same search, with a handoff that opens the customizer when setup finishes.

Search

The page is one search. Type a style number, brand, or name — try 3001, PC61, dad hat.

Results split in two:

Catalog presets rank above the feed. Pick the preset when both exist.

If search misses

Not in the feed yet? Pick the supplier, enter a style ID (5101 or ASAU5101), click Search entire database. That pulls the style from the supplier’s full catalog — same idea as Search Entire Database for S&S / SanMar.

Not in any feed? Build a blank by hand.

Walk the rail

Apparel / supplier blanks use this step list:

Info → Print Location → Variant Settings → Decoration Methods → Sell as → Decoration Area → PSD Uploads → Send to channel

• Catalog presets mark most of those Preset. Review and continue.
• Feed blanks mark Info and Variant Settings from the feed. You still set placements, methods, sell-as, areas, and mockups.

Sell as is a storefront setting, not warehouse stock:

• Customizable — buyers design on the storefront. Needs decoration-method pricing tables bound or the option is disabled.
• Finished good — shoppers only pick size and color. Decoration area and PSD steps are skipped. The product can still be decorated later.

If you opened this from Add Base Product now, Send to channel is skipped and you go to the customizer.

After save

The blank appears on Base products and, once enabled for the enterprise / access tier, in Products → Catalog.

Then create the retail product. After save, edit placements and methods on the blank — Placements, print methods, and variants.

Not this path

• Blank already in Catalog: pick it there. Do not add a second base product for the same style.
• Designing art: Catalog customizer, not this wizard.
