Connecting Order Desk

Last updated July 28, 2026

> Sync orders, push tracking, and automate fulfillment through Order Desk

What This Integration Does

When connected, Riverr will:

  • Import orders from Order Desk
  • Sync tracking numbers back to Order Desk
  • Update fulfillment status
  • Process production costs
  • Move orders into your manufacturing workflow

Riverr does not replace Order Desk.

It becomes the fulfillment engine behind it.

---

Before You Start

Make sure:

  • Your Order Desk store is fully operational
  • Orders are flowing into Order Desk correctly
  • Customer shipping addresses are complete
  • Line items contain SKUs or identifiable product data

If Order Desk is not receiving clean data, Riverr cannot process it correctly.

---

Step 1: Get Your Order Desk API Key

  1. Log into Order Desk
  2. Click Settings (left sidebar)
  3. Click API
  4. Generate an API Key (if one does not already exist)
  5. Copy the API Key
  6. Copy your Store ID

Keep both available. You will need them inside Riverr.

---

Step 2: Connect Inside Riverr

  1. Log into Riverr
  2. Go to Stores
  3. Click New Store
  4. Select Order Desk
  5. Paste: __UL__ API Key
  6. Store ID
  • Click Save

Riverr will verify the credentials and establish the connection.

---

Step 3: What Happens After You Connect?

Immediately after connecting:

  • Existing orders inside Order Desk will begin importing
  • Future orders will sync automatically
  • Listings will import for mapping
  • Orders may appear as Unsynced if products are not mapped yet

If you see Unsynced orders, refer to the Sync Listings & Unsynced Orders article.

---

How Orders Flow After Connection

Order Desk

→ Riverr imports order

→ Riverr checks product mapping

→ Order moves to:

  • Unsynced (if not mapped)
  • Draft (if customizable)
  • Pre-Production (if fully mapped)

From there, your normal batching and production workflow begins.

---

What Syncs Between Order Desk and Riverr?

From Order Desk → Riverr

  • Order details
  • Customer info
  • Shipping address
  • Line items
  • SKUs

From Riverr → Order Desk

  • Tracking numbers
  • Fulfillment status
  • Shipment confirmation

Riverr does not push inventory counts back to Order Desk.

---

Testing the Connection

After connecting:

  1. Create a test order inside Order Desk
  2. Confirm it appears in Riverr under Orders
  3. Complete production
  4. Create a shipping label
  5. Verify tracking appears back inside Order Desk

If tracking does not sync, confirm:

  • API key is correct
  • Store ID is correct
  • Order status is eligible for fulfillment

---

Common Issues

Orders Not Appearing

  • API key incorrect
  • Store ID incorrect
  • Orders filtered in Order Desk
  • Order status not eligible for export

---

Orders Showing Unsynced

This is not an integration issue.

It means the product has not been mapped in Riverr.

See the Sync Listings article for instructions.

---

Tracking Not Syncing Back

Tracking only syncs when:

  • Label is created in Riverr
  • Or order is marked shipped

If labels are created externally, make sure tracking is entered into Riverr.

---

Best Practice

Let Order Desk handle:

  • Marketplace connections
  • Routing logic
  • Order consolidation

Let Riverr handle:

  • Production workflow
  • Batching
  • Artwork processing
  • Shipping labels
  • Tracking sync

This separation keeps your system clean and scalable.
