Opportunities: Tracking and Converting Leads

Last updated July 28, 2026

Finding leads, following up, and converting them is core to growing your business. The Opportunities page handles the first two for you.

It tracks people who land on the national store — and any other store on your account — and turns that traffic into opportunities you can act on. Rather than wondering who visited and left, you get a record of what they looked at, what they abandoned, and a way to reach back out.

Audience: Big Frog users following up on potential customers

Estimated time: 10 minutes

Identified vs. unidentified opportunities

Opportunities come in two states:

State What it means What you can do
Identified You have their email, usually because they got far enough in the process to enter it Follow up directly, run automations
Unidentified They browsed but never entered an email Tracked, but not yet reachable

Visitors get connected retroactively

If someone browses anonymously and comes back days later — say five days on — and enters their email that second time, their earlier anonymous activity is linked to that same record.

You get their full history, not just what they did after identifying themselves.

What's on an opportunity record

Open any opportunity to see:

Shopping behavior

  • Products they viewed
  • What's in their cart
  • Current cart value

History and value

  • Lifetime value
  • Total spent previously
  • Source the visit came from
  • Emails already sent to them

Activity detail

  • Sessions — when they visited and what they were doing overall
  • Recent events — the specific actions they took

Together these give you a picture of where someone is in their decision.

Following up manually

From an opportunity record, you can follow up directly.

  1. Open the opportunity.
  2. Choose to follow up.
  3. A message is generated for that person, including an automatic recovery link back to their cart.
  4. Optionally, add a discount code to the message.
  5. Send.

Cart recovery automations

You can also enrol identified opportunities into automated follow-up. Current options:

Automation Timing
One-step Sends once, 1 hour after the activity
Two-step Adds a second send at 24 hours
Three-step Adds a final send at 72 hours

A typical use: someone viewed a shirt and added it to their cart without checking out. The automation reminds them what they left behind and links them back to it.

Measuring results

The Performance view summarizes how your follow-up is working:

  • How many people you've reached
  • How many reminders were sent
  • Conversions resulting from them

Coming later

These are not available yet, but are planned:

  • Retargeting unidentified visitors through Facebook and Google ads — reaching people you can identify as visitors but have no email for
  • Expanded automation options

Quick checklist

  • [ ] Follow-up sent manually, or automation applied
  • [ ] Discount code added where appropriate
  • [ ] Performance reviewed to see what's converting

Troubleshooting

Problem What to do
Opportunity has no email They haven't identified themselves yet — no direct follow-up is possible until they do
Not sure whether someone was already contacted The record lists emails already sent to that person
Unsure which leads to prioritize Sort your attention by cart value and lifetime value
Want to know if follow-up is working Check the Performance view for reach, sends, and conversions
